NEW BOOK: The Magic of Momentum

For the last two years, I’ve been exploring behavioral momentum. Everyone knows about physics momentum, but what about life momentum? Everything I’ve learned is in my new book, The Magic of Momentum: Master Life’s Most Powerful Force and Discover Your Potential.

When you do something, anything, it isn’t just a case of getting a desired result and being done. Rather, every action we take is loaded with invisible threads of momentum that affect us now and later.

I first learned of momentum’s power when I turned one push-up into a full workout on a day I wasn’t at all motivated to exercise. The momentum of that push-up somehow carried me to where I wanted to go. I couldn’t believe it, because until that point, I had relied exclusively on either motivation (wanting to do it) or willpower (forcing myself to do it) for action. This was different. Despite feeling unmotivated, I was propelled forward.

Momentum is deceptively powerful because it’s an exponential force. To understand just how deceptive exponential forces can be, consider that a penny doubled for 50 days turns into $5.6 trillion, or more than the GDP of every country except the USA and China. One penny!

The magic of momentum is seen in its exponential power, and every person on earth can wield it! Unfortunately, we tend to think of behavioral momentum in terms of other types of momentum such as in physics or sports. But, as you’ll learn in the book, behavioral momentum is uniquely exponential because it can create feedback loops in the brain.

This book is a deep dive into life’s most powerful force. Whatever you want to do, wherever you want to go, whoever you want to be… momentum can get you there faster and easier. If you can master this force, you won’t reach what you think is your potential right now, you will discover your potential, which is almost certainly higher than you think.

You’ll learn dozens of practical ways to generate momentum in a variety of situations.

For those struggling with bad habits, The Magic of Momentum dedicates an entire chapter to negative momentum, and how to reverse it. Using the techniques within, I reversed significant negative momentum I had developed in two areas during the pandemic—drinking alcohol and gambling. Both of these areas are notoriously difficult to detach from, and I have weak willpower, but I have a much healthier relationship with each now.

Momentum isn’t just powerful. It’s magical. After reading The Magic of Momentum, you won’t look at any action in the same way again. I haven’t been this excited to release a book since Mini Habits! Enjoy!
